When choosing your new Excel motorhome, it should be a very exciting and pleasurable experience. It is also important that you are familier with a selection of technical descriptions or facilities which are featured within motorhomes. Listed below is a glossary of terms and frequently asked questions, which may prove of assistance when selecting your new Excel Motorhome.

 

Is there a fire alarm?

Smoke alarms are supplied and fitted as standard.

What is an awning light?

A 12v exterior light operated from a switch inside the motorhome.

What is Axle loading?

The maximum weight permitted on the front and rear axles.

What is base vehicle?

The base vehicle is a light commercial vehicle which is purchased by Excel; it is the ‘foundations’ of your new motorhome.

What is Cassette toilet?

A modern toilet designed for leisure vehicles which incorporates an electric flushing system and removable cassette to dispose of waste.

What is Coach built?

A coach built vehicle is where the original manufacturer’s base vehicle, Ford cab is used and a habitation area is added.

What is a Converter?

The converter is the motorhome manufacturer.
